Abigail (Nebraska)

Abigail joined our family in June of 2009. She was immediately the light of everyone’s lives, especially her Grandparents!
We first noticed that something wasn’t right when she was 6 weeks old. At a doctors visit, labs were drawn and it was determined that there was something seriously wrong with her liver. Over the next few months many tests and procedures were done and just after she turned 7 months old she was diagnosed with type 2 PFIC (Progressive Familial Interhepatic Cholestasis).
A liver transplant is in her future but thankfully, that will fix her problems and she can go on being the sunshine she is to us. Right now she is learning to find her head and pat her belly like her Grandpa Dennis & Great-Grandpa Melvin. She giggles at her dogs and loves to roll around on the floor. She brings a smile to our faces everyday.

I’m not Abigail’s Grandpa so my opinion cannot be construed as biased, SHE IS A CUTIE.As you said, she giggles a bit. Any girl who is cute and giggles is a keeper.

Thinking of you all today – what a day it must have been for all of you!!! Tell “Poopsie” I knew she could do it! Thought of you all day and hope you know so many people are thinking of you. I posted a prayer request outside my cubie and people stopped all day – someone even said they would light a candel. God and little Girls bring people together!
    Love Ya,

Hey Abbi! Just wanted you to know that Brandon asked to say a prayer for you the other night. It went something like this: “Dear God, watch over Abbi. I hope the new stuff inside her body is good. Amen” Not bad for a 4 year old! We love you guys! God Bless!
